Man arrested on drug, attempted murder charges in Weld County

Brian Ledezma, 31, is accused of possessing suspected fentanyl, meth and cocaine.

WELD COUNTY, Colo. — A man is facing drug and attempted murder charges after being arrested at a gas station in Weld County this week.

The Greeley Police Department (GPD) said that at around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, officers from the Nunn and Ault police departments responded to the Soaring V Fuels gas station in Nunn on a report of a man who had asked staff to call 911 because he believed he was overdosing on drugs.

Brian Ledezma, 31, was found to be overdosing on drugs when officers arrived, police said. He was taken to a hospital for treatment, and officers worked to determine where the drugs came from.

Police said a search of Ledezma's vehicle by the Weld County Drug Task Force revealed about 12,000 counterfeit prescription pills suspected of containing fentanyl, eight pounds of suspected methamphetamine, a half-pound of suspected cocaine, and two guns.

GPD said that a separate investigation by its officers revealed that Ledezma was also involved in a drive-by shooting that happened on Jan. 17. Police said Ledezma drove by a home on 19th Street Road at around 7 p.m. and fired multiple rounds into a home occupied by adults and a child. No one was injured.

Ledezma faces numerous charges including attempted first-degree murder and several counts of unlawful possession with intent to distribute, according to police.
