Nelson wows with Accuracy Shooting win against Kadri

Targets acquired. Targets smashed.
Brock Nelson won the 2023 Honda NHL Accuracy Shooting™ Challenge on Friday, putting his sharpshooting skills to good use.
"It was cool to to win that and not really knowing what to expect, but just going out there having a good time," Nelson said. "Something to remember for sure."

In the first round of accuracy shooting, Nelson knocked down four targets in 12.126, finishing second of eight, advancing to the knockout stage. First, the Islanders' scoring leader eliminated crosstown rival Artemi Panarin in a head-to-head showdown. After Nazem Kadri knocked out Connor McDavid, Nelson took care of business, eliminating the Calgary Flames forward with a 12.419 time.
Nelson was the first Islanders accuracy shooting champion since John Tavares in 2015.

Nelson had a plan, shooting bottom left, bottom right, top left and top right en route to the win after consulting with a few guys on the bench. The Islanders forward was spotted chatting with Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby and Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin. Nelson had his son Beckett with him in the locker room before the Skills Competition and got some photos with Crosby, Ovechkin and others like Dylan Larkin.
"It's fun, I had Beckett kind of bouncing around in and out to meet some guys and be around the action," Nelson said. "Seeing him around and how excited he is probably the coolest thing and you'll remember forever."
