The long wait is finally over. The Jack Tighe Memorial Fields said goodbye to rundown portable bathrooms and welcomed a brand new $200,000 module bathroom.
Members of the community, including a handful of local businesses owners, helped deliver the new facility Friday morning. A parent told News 4-Fox 11,
The little league deserves a new bathroom, and we are thankful to the Kaufman family for the donation.
The project was made possible thanks to Public Restroom Company and other generous local businesses.
Katie Sherin, the COO of the Public Restroom Company said they were happy to make a local contribution. The initiative comes after some safety issues were brought up by the community to the Kaufman family.
"Kids have been using rundown porta potties for many years, the facilities had needles and other trash in them due to homeless community using them," said Reno Continental Board Member Jay Kenny.
The new bathrooms are family friendly and gender neutral. The process took a little over a year to be completed and should be ready right before the 2023 little season starts in March.
