The Reno Fire Department (RFD) is asking for the public's help in the investigations of two separate fires that occurred in Reno on Thursday, February 2.
Firefighters responded and knocked down two possible arson fires, and investigators are seeking for help in identifying the suspects:
1595 Sky Mountain Drive at 10:41 a.m.
RFD responded to a structure fire and found multiple fire sets inside the vacant building, which was previously occupied by 24 Hour Fitness. According to investigation, the fire sprinkler system activated and kept the fire from spreading. They also found that the fires were intentionally set.
1790 Silverada Blvd. at 8:39 p.m.
RFD knocked down fires in multiple U-Haul box vans at the storage lot located off Oddie Blvd., and investigators found that the fires were intentionally set.

Additionally, RFD released information on another fire that occurred at 7:47 p.m. at 2370 Orange Lane where an apartment fire left three units damaged and displaced residents. According to RFD, investigators found that the fire accidentally started from an electrically energized range top which ignited the combustibles nearby. There were no injuries reported from this fire.
