MAC WAS THE LUCKY GUY TO BE FIRST TO PURCHASE AT THIS DISPENSARY. SHORTLY AFTER THAT, THE LINE STARTED IN THE LOBBY AND WENT OUT THE DOOR, AND STRETCHED DOWN THE FRONT OF THE BUILDING. NEEDLESS TO SAY, THE STATE MAKING THIS MOVE 3 DAYS EARLIER THAN EXPECTED HAS CREATED QUITE THE BUZZ. >> JUST THIS MORNING WE HAVE RECEIVED ABOUT 100 ONLINE ORDERS AND WE’VE ONLY BEEN OPEN ABOUT 30 MINUTES. It was a busy day for marijuana dispensaries that are now officially open for business on the Missouri side. Sales officially became legal on the Missouri side of the metro on Friday morning By lunchtime, lines were going out of the door at multiple locations in Kansas City --- and business isn't expected to slow down. “I expect to be extremely busy this evening,” said Nick Grammatico, the district manager for Terrabis. “Like you said, people are going to start to hear about it throughout the day, they get off of work. This evening will probably be our peak.” Terrabis Dispensary began selling its marijuana offerings at 10 a.m. on Friday. It had more than 30 customers in less than two hours. Thanks to those lines, cities around Missouri will be soon be lining its pockets with money from the taxes. The dispensaries are figuring out how to manage all of these customers.In Grandview, recreational sales began at the ReLeaf Resource Dispensary early Friday morning once it got approval. “Quite literally at 8 a.m. when we got approval, we’ve been just sort of scrambling since then,” said Mitch Alexander, the director of ReLeaf. “We got about a 12-hour window and we got here this morning. We have people here.”
