FAIRMONT, W.Va. (WV News) — On Friday, the Fairmont Medical Center and the Marion County Chamber of Commerce celebrated Wear Red Day, during which participating people wore the color red to raise awareness for women’s heart health.

The day is part of the bigger American Heart Month initiative led by the American Heart Association, which aims to raise citizens’ awareness and knowledge about heart disease, according to Fairmont Medical Center Director of Nursing Cari Morgan.
