Women's Basketball Hosts ETSU Saturday

The Mocs kick off the second half of the SoCon season at home against the Bucs.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- The Chattanooga women's basketball team will open the second half of Southern Conference play Saturday afternoon with a 2:00 p.m. matchup against ETSU at The McKenzie Arena. Chattanooga beat the Bucs 53-50 earlier this season. The Mocs and Bucs are both 4-3 in SoCon play.

ABOUT CHATTANOOGA (12-10, 4-3 SoCon)
Chattanooga is 4-3 at the mid-way point of the SoCon season. The Mocs opened conference play at ETSU and came home with a win over the Bucs. UTC fell at home to Samford and Western Carolina while dropping a decision at Wofford. Back-to-back overtime wins moved the Mocs to second in the standings beating Mercer in OT at home and then taking a double-overtime win against Furman on the Paladins home court.
 
Yazz Wazeerud-Din leads the Mocs in scoring and is second in the league. She is third for 3-pointers made and has played more minutes per game than the rest of the SoCon. Addie Grace Porter is the Mocs top rebounder, ranking fourth in the league and leading the SoCon in defensive rebounds. She is fifth in assists in the SoCon standings and fourth for steals.
 
ABOUT ETSU (17-6, 4-3 SoCon)
After starting the conference season 0-3, started with a loss to UTC, the Bucs have put together a four-game win streak that includes wins on the road at Furman and Wofford while beating UNCG and Western Carolina at home last week. ETSU is averaging 62.3 points per game and lead the SoCon in scoring defense, allowing just 53.9 points per game.
 
Jiselle Thomas leads the team in scoring with 15.2 points per game followed by Nevaeh Brown (10.7). Jayla Ruffus-Milner is the Bucs' top rebounder with 7.4 per game. Coutney Moore in ETSU's top 3-point shooter with 1.6 per game.
