Excelsior Springs man killed in Clay County crash early Thursday

The Clay County, Missouri, Sheriff's Office has released the identity of the man killed in a crash near Kearney early Thursday morning.
Deputies were called to the scene of a single-vehicle crash around 3:30 a.m. on Thursday near Northeast 128th Street and Jesse James Farm Road.
When they arrived on the scene, deputies found a man who had been thrown from a Ford F-150 truck involved in that crash.
He was pronounced dead on the scene.
That man has been identified as 44-year-old Eric B. Starr of Excelsior Springs.
Investigators with the Clay County Traffic Safety Unit determined Starr was traveling at a high rate of speed before his truck overturned multiple times. He was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the truck.
