HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – Three people were arrested in Holyoke Thursday afternoon after more than 30,000 bags of heroin were seized from a home on Pleasant Street.
Holyoke Police Captain Matthew Moriarty said members of the Hampden County Narcotics Task Force, CINRET, Safe Task Force, MSP Stop Team, HPD Narcotics Vice Unit, FBI Gang Task Force, and DEA conducted a search warrant of a home on Pleasant Street around 2:11 p.m. Thursday.
Detectives seized 34,150 individually packaged bags of heroin (approximately 844 grams), $32,645, and approximately 258 grams of suspected cocaine and arrested 30-year-old Francisco Torres of Holyoke, 23-year-old Sebastian Rosario of Holyoke, and 21-year-old Nashalee Arocho of Holyoke.
Officers seized 100 bags of heroin and 9.4 grams of suspected cocaine inside Torres’ vehicle.
All three suspects are facing charges of trafficking over 200 grams of heroin and trafficking over 200 grams of cocaine. Torres is also facing charges of possession of a class A drug and possession of a class B drug.
Hampden District Attorney Anthony D. Gulluni stated, “I thank the members of my office’s Narcotics Task Force, along with our partner agencies, for their hard work and skill in this investigation and the execution of search warrants leading to the arrest of these suspects.” DA Gulluni went on to say, “We will continue to fight the battle against opiates and addiction by arresting those who wish to profit from this disease. But, if we as a community are going to win this fight, these individuals must be held to account for their role in supporting the addiction epidemic our community faces.”
