Outer Banks season 3's trailer has teased a long-awaited emotional reunion.
In the new promo for Netflix's teen drama, John B (Chase Stokes) is gobsmacked at the sight of his presumed-dead father Big John (Charles Halford), before giving him a hug.
Elsewhere, Kiara (Madison Bailey) could be in danger as she's held captive by Carlos Singh (Andy McQueen), a ruthless Caribbean Don.

Back in 2021, following the release of the second season, actor Stokes discussed what Big John's return could mean for John B going forward.
"I have so many thoughts in my head. Obviously, the natural progression when you're excited about your work is to immediately start planning for what is to come. We're hoping to continue to tell the story for a couple more seasons," he began.
"But in my mind, that's exactly it: What does this mean? There's so many things that have happened in this period of time.
"I mean, it all starts with [Big John's] selfish want to chase this treasure, and so it ends with him leaving his son on his own terms, you know?"

The new season launches on Netflix on February 23, and it sounds like there's going to be plenty of action and drama after the Pogues find themselves on a desert island.
"The island's newest residents spend their days fishing, swimming, and reveling in the carefree lifestyle of their temporary dwelling," the official synopsis for the third season reads.
"But things quickly go south for John B, Sarah, Kiara, Pope, JJ, and Cleo when they find themselves once again caught up in a race for the treasure, quite literally running for their lives."
Outer Banks returns to Netflix for season 3 on Thursday, February 23.
