Venom's Tom Hardy and Joker's Zazie Beetz are set to star in an upcoming Apple TV+ series titled Lazarus, based on the Joona Linna book series by Lars Kepler.
According to Deadline, the series will follow police detective Saga Bauer (Beetz), who goes undercover in a maximum-security psychiatric hospital to get closer to notorious killer Jurek Walter (Hardy).
Jurek was arrested 13 years ago for the presumed murders of a brother and sister. Saga's undercover mission comes after the brother is mysteriously found alive, with the sister's whereabouts still unknown.

Norwegian TV director Øystein Karlsen will write, direct, and executive produce Lazarus. Hardy will also produce alongside his partner Dean Baker under their Hardy Son & Baker banner.
Production on the second season of BBC One period drama Taboo is set to begin later this year, six years after we last saw Hardy in the role of James Delaney.
Co-creator Steven Knight revealed the exciting update in May 2022, teasing: "I imagine that it will start production towards the end of next year.
"[Tom and I] are both keen to continue and there are lots of people who want us to continue in that direction. It's been a question of schedules and deciding where it goes next."

Meanwhile, Beetz will reprise her role as Sophie Dumond in the upcoming Joker sequel, Joker: Folie à Deux, alongside Joaquin Phoenix as the titular clown and Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn.
The sequel has been confirmed as a musical and, previously talking about this big change, Beetz said it "makes wonderful sense".
"Todd [Phillips, director] has always had a creative approach to the character," she added. "I love musicals, and I think of them as the characters are feeling and experiencing so much that they can only sing and dance about it, whether in sorrow or in joy."
