Marion D. SokolowskiShrewsbury – Marion D. (Trotto) Sokolowski, 95, lifelong Shrewsbury resident, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 in the comfort of her home, with her loving family at her side. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Charles W. Sokolowski, in 1991; and their children, Charles W. Sokolowski, Jr., Ann, and Lucy Sokolowski.

She leaves her devoted children: Charlene L. Sokolowski, of Shrewsbury, Michael J. Sokolowski and his wife Linda, of Boylston, Nancy A. Whitney and her husband Peter, of Shrewsbury, Lori A. Fox and her husband Mark, of Charlestown, MA, Joseph T. Sokolowski and his wife Alexandra, of West Boylston, and John T. Sokolowski and his partner Amanda Jess, of Shrewsbury; her adoring grandchildren: Lauren Adams and husband Jermaine, Lindsay Katz and husband Christopher, Liza Wheeler and husband Ryan, Ashleigh Whitney and partner Joseph Tabbutt, Jill Amero and husband Matthew, Nicole, Stephanie, and Jennifer Fox; great-grandchildren: Michael, Mason, Rhett, Leighton, Stella, and Antonia; her siblings: Nicholina “Nicky” Mastromatteo, and Rocco Trotto, both of Shrewsbury; her loving caregivers, Shawkia Iddrisa and Priscilla Abougye. Marion was predeceased by her siblings: Louis, Frank, Mary (Santa Maria), Joseph, Frances (Ahern), Matteo, Anthony, and Michael; and their parents, John and Antoinetta (DiPasquale) Trotto.

Marion was born, raised, and educated in Shrewsbury, graduating from Major Howard W. Beal High School. She held many positions at the Trotto family business, Worcester Sand & Gravel in Shrewsbury, and ended her long career as the payroll clerk and treasurer.

Marion loved to dance, and was a regular at the Shrewsbury Senior Center, even attending belly-dancing classes! As the matriarch of the Sokolowski family, some of her favorite times included hosting Sunday family dinners, where her famous macaroni and meatballs were served. Marion also enjoyed spending quality family time at her second home in Harwichport, MA. Days were filled with having fun at the beach and swimming in the ocean while staying up late and playing cards filled the nights. Family meant everything to Marion, and her legacy of love will live on through them.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the Sokolowski family from 9 – 11 AM on Monday, February 6, 2023 at the BRITTON-SHREWSBURY FUNERAL HOME, 648 Main Street, with a service to follow at 11 AM. Burial will be held at St. John’s Cemetery, Worcester.
