Giants’ Saquon Barkley involved in Pro Bowl Games dodgeball drama

New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley participated in the Pro Bowl Games dodgeball match Thursday.

The Pro Bowl Games dodgeball match took place Thursday night, and Saquon Barkley was one of the last two standing.

The New York Giants running back was the final person in for his team, but got hit by New Orleans Saints linebacker Demario Davis. However, the ball hit Barkley in the head.

Barkley was immediately adamant that the ball hit him in the head, which warrants a review. After the officials looked over the play, Barkley’s team was named the victor.

These are the be the first-ever Pro Bowl Games and will finish with an AFC-NFC flag football game on Sunday, Feb. 5 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nev.

The NFC team will be coached by Eli Manning and the AFC team will be led by Peyton Manning. Combined, the Manning brothers have been Pro Bowlers themselves 18 times. Peyton spent 17 years playing in the AFC for the Indianapolis Colts and the Denver Broncos, while Eli spent his 16-year career with the Giants in the NFC.

Here is a breakdown of the new rules, courtesy of the Associated Press:

LAS VEGAS (AP) — The NFL announced all eight skills competitions for its revamped Pro Bowl week on Wednesday.

Five of the events will be Feb. 2 at Intermountain Healthcare Performance Center, the headquarters for the Las Vegas Raiders. Those will be televised but not open to the public.

The rest are Feb. 5 at Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium, and tickets are on sale for that day.

The events at the Raiders’ headquarters include a dodgeball tournament, a three-part elimination contest called the “Lightning Round,” a golf ball longest-drive contest, a quarterback passing challenge and the first round of a best catch game.

Stadium contests are the finals of the best catch event, a relay race through an obstacle course, a special teams competition and a strength contest using first-down chains.
