Juan A. VazquezMarlborough – Juan A. Vazquez, 88, of Marlborough died Saturday January 28, 2023 at Marlborough Hospital.  He was the husband of the late Aurea Santiago who died in 2015.

He was born, raised, and educated in Guayama, Puerto Rico; and was the son of the late Jose Antonio and Matilda Vazquez.

He was a steel worker and a machinist at John Frye Boot and Diamond Shoe, and was a valuable employee at many other companies.

He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and was a die-hard Red Sox fan.

Juan enjoyed Mall walking, traveling, and being active. He was an excellent cook and could produce a variety of Spanish dishes, and loved cooking for his daughters on weekends.

He will always be remembered as being an extremely loving, kind, and compassionate father who went out of his way for his family. Juan instilled in his children an exceptional work ethic, and instilled a passion for having a purpose in life. Juan always had a pep in his step and a kind word for everyone he met.

He leaves two daughters, Lourdes E. Rizzeli and her husband Vincent of West Boylston and Yvonne Vazquez-Yancey of Temple, Texas; two grandsons, William R. Boyd of Marlborough and Kolin E. Yancey of Temple, Texas; a great grandson, Ryan J. Boyd of Marlborough; many nephews, nieces and cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday February 3 at 11:00 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, Prospect Street. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Wilson Street. Calling hours will be held Thursday, February 2, from 6-8 p.m. in the Collins Funeral Home, 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough.
