Margeaux Black is our honoree this week and she received several nominations!

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — This week’s Teacher of the Week has been an educator for 18 years and she says the students make the job easy!

Margeaux Black is our honoree this week and she received several nominations!

As Destiny McKeiver shows us, she loves hands on lessons with her second graders.

A lesson of addition and subtraction using money is what the students in Mrs. Black’s second grade class are working on.

They were excited to learn that their teacher would be featured on the news for her excellence.

“I couldn’t believe it. I was completely shocked… the entire class was with me and I read your text message and I just couldn’t even believe it, I was just shocked and I felt so blessed to be chosen,” said Black.

Mrs. Black could hardly contain her excitement for the honor.

Her principal says she’s so deserving and represents Providence well.

“She just loves her job and It’s apparent every single day she comes to work because she thrives in our environment and has a desire to educate and love children passionately,” said Deshuan Mills, principal.

“18 years of teaching and the 7th year of teaching at Providence,” said Black.

Mrs. black says she has a lot of people to thank for making her time in education so special.

“Teaching is definitely rewarding. the kids just make it all worth it and they’re fantastic families… I’m just again beyond blessed to be at providence with these amazing kids and their families,” said Black.
