A policy adviser at Southwest Gas has been named as the new director of the Nevada Office of Energy.
Gov. Joe Lombardo's office announced the appointment of Dwayne McClinton to the role, after McClinton previously served on Lombardo's transition team. His start date is Monday, Feb. 20.
"Dwayne is an energy policy expert and accomplished business leader, and I’m confident that he will thrive in this dynamic and critical role," the governor said in a statement.
McClinton is currently the senior legislative policy adviser at Southwest Gas, according to Lombardo's office. He also held roles in the renewable energy sector during his career.
The Nevada Office of Energy manages the state's energy-related programs, advises the governor on energy policy, and collaborates with local, regional and federal partners, according to the office's website.
