Warming centers open across Connecticut as dangerously cold arctic air, wind chills settle over region

There are several warming centers open in various communities across Connecticut as bitter cold Arctic air moves into the region.

With dangerously cold temperatures headed to Connecticut today and Saturday, a number of communities are opening up warming centers.
Mount Aery Baptist Church in Bridgeport is just one of several places where those looking to get out of the cold can come and warm up.
Mount Aery Baptist Church is on located on 73 Frank Street and the warming center will be open Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.  
There are several warming centers open in Stratford including the Birdseye Municipal Complex, the Baldwin Center, the Stratford Library and the YMCA.
In Norwalk, the Main and South library branches, the Norwalk Police Department Community Room, the SoNo Collection mall and movie are being used as warming centers
Cold air will move in today and become even colder Friday night through Saturday with lows of 3 on the shoreline, -5 inland. The wind chills could be as low as -20 degrees.
