Australian chef Curtis Stone has revealed what TV host and disgraced restaurant guest James Corden was like as a patron at one of his establishments.

Back in October last year, Corden made headlines after restauranteur Keith McNally, claimed he had been “extremely nasty” to his restaurant staff at Balthazar on two separate occasions.

McNally posted about Corden on his Instagram account, and the post gained traction spurning hundreds of articles and leading to other restaurants banning the TV host from their premises. Corden later apologised for his actions.

“I didn’t shout or scream, I didn’t get up out of my seat, I didn’t call anyone names or use derogatory language, I’ve been walking around thinking that I haven’t done anything wrong,” Corden said at the time.

“But the truth is I have made a rude, rude comment. And it was wrong. It was an unnecessary comment, it was ungracious to the server.”

Corden added that he contacted McNally immediately after seeing the post. “He appreciated the call. I was happy that we got to clear the air. And I felt like we dealt with it privately … but by this point, the story was out there and more people were upset,” he said.

Now, Australian Michelin star chef Curtis Stone has revealed that Corden has eaten at his restaurant in the past, and said that he was a “gentleman”.

During a chat on Fitzy and Wippa this morning, the hosts asked Stone which celebrities he had joined at their table because “they said Curtis come and sit with us because we just had an amazing meal”.

James Corden and Adele,” Stone responded.

Host Sarah McGilvray pressed the celebrity chef for details, and asked if Stone if the late night host had even yelled at him.

“James Corden has always been a gentleman in our restaurants,” Stone replied. He added that both Adele and Corden sat down with Stone and said the singer was “awesome”.
