(WLOS) Western Carolina women’s basketball fell at home to visiting Mercer 68-44 Thursday on Ingles Court in the Ramsey Center.
Turning Point:
Mercer held Western Carolina to one field goal in the first quarter and shot 78 percent from the field in the second to build a 39-18 lead at the half. The Bears outscored WCU 28-14 in the second quarter.
Individual Leaders
Kyla Allison led the Catamounts with 13 points and pulled down six rebounds.
Mya Love added 12 points.
Senior Endia Holliday ripped down a career-high 13 rebounds.
Enjulina Gonzalez led the Bears with 19 points.

Mercer shot 51.9 percent from the field.
The Bears connected on five three-pointers while WCU hit one.
Mercer was 7-of-18 from the free throw line.
Western Carolina went to the charity stripe 25 times hitting 13.
The Catamounts were even with the Bears in the third quarter as each team scored 15 points.
Western Carolina had 21 turnovers in which the Bears turned into 16 points.
Mercer’s biggest lead was 27 (47-20) with 6:50 left in the third quarter.
News & Notes
Love has scored in double figures in four consecutive games and six of the last seven.
After having her consecutive scoring streak snapped at ETSU (Jan. 26) Allison has now scored in double figures in back-to-back contests. She has also scored in double figures in 11 of the last 12 contests.
Holliday has pulled down double figure rebounds twice this season. She had 12 in the season-opener against Bluefield State.
Holliday is the second Catamount this season to have multiple double figure rebounding games. Junior Joi Reid leads the team with five.
Freshman Erin Stack has seen action in the last three games.
Allison was 3-for-3 from the free throw line against Mercer and is 49-of-54 this season shooing 90 percent from the charity stripe.
