Friday afternoon, police are continuing their search for the suspect. It happened around 9:45 a.m. Friday on Atlanta Avenue, near 7th Avenue and Broadway Road.

PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) — The Phoenix Police Department confirmed on Thursday the three people found dead earlier this week in their home near South Mountain were victims of a murder-suicide, and the woman was pregnant. Phoenix Police Sgt. Brian Bower said 27-year-old Jacob De Zeeuw shot and killed 37-year-old Sarah Scott and 6-year-old Jacob De Zeeuw, Jr. near 16th Street and Dobbins Road. Scott was four months pregnant and her unborn child also died. De Zeeuw then took his own life. Bower said Jacob De Zeeuw, Jr. wasn’t related to Scott.

The Tempe Police Department put out a news release with few details. Officers wouldn’t say who was arrested or how many suspects but said they couldn’t release any more information “to maintain the integrity of this investigation.” Tempe police teamed up with the U.S. Marshals Service task force to make the arrests. “Our investigators are continuing their painstaking efforts, remaining laser-focused on finding justice for the victims and their families,” the release said.

PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) - A woman was shot and killed in Phoenix’s “The Zone,” one of the nation’s largest homeless encampments, on Wednesday. In a separate case, two men were accused of beating and burning a man to death in a dumpster in the same encampment. Sources told Arizona’s Family that firefighters won’t even go into The Zone without a police escort. You might remember, back in November, that first responders found a dead baby boy on the street. “It’s heartbreaking if you want to know the truth,” said Brock Bevell, a former police officer and now a counselor with Victory Recovery. Bevell used to work in the narcotics division only to find himself in the grip of opioid addiction after getting injured on the job. Now he’s 13 years sober.

It happened Thursday at the Shell station at Third Avenue and Bell Road. Police said officers found 26-year-old Alexander Morrissey stabbed multiple times in his face and head. There was also blood on the ground, a small pocket knife, a large tree limb and broken beer bottles near him. He died at the scene.

Suspect stabs man to death in north Phoenix after hearing voices, police say

TEMPE, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) -– A man suffered serious injuries after a woman intentionally drove the wrong way on Loop 202 and crashed head-on into his vehicle in Tempe. According to Sgt. Jacob Melki with the Arizona Department of Public Safety, troopers got multiple calls about a wrong-way vehicle around 3:50 a.m. Troopers say that the vehicle was going eastbound in the westbound lanes on Loop 202 near Sky Harbor Boulevard. Minutes later, at around 4:05 a.m., the suspect allegedly crashed head-on. The suspect in the wrong-way vehicle was identified as a woman in her 30s who suffered minor injuries. The man in the second car suffered serious injuries. Both of them were transported to the hospital.

PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) -- Arizona Department of Public Safety troopers say an off-duty Phoenix police sergeant was injured while helping a motorist on Interstate 17. According to authorities on the scene, the sergeant was helping change a tire along the freeway around 11 p.m. near Northern Avenue when a black SUV hit him, and then several other cars followed in a “domino effect” crash that ended with a total of eight vehicles being involved. The officer reportedly suffered serious injuries including broken bones and cuts. His name was not released.

SAN TAN VALLEY, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) -- A boy was rushed to the hospital after he was pulled out of a bathtub at a San Tan Valley home on Thursday afternoon. Around 12:45 p.m., a mother called 911, saying she found her 4-year-old son not moving inside the tub near Hunt Highway and Mountain Vista Boulevard. Pinal County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrived and began CPR on the boy, and firefighters took over shortly afterward. Investigators say he was blue and had a weak pulse.
