Country Legend Marty Stuart to Play Chattanooga Show

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Country music legend Marty Stuart and His Fabulous Superlatives are stopping in Chattanooga next week.

They’ll be performing at the Walker Theatre on February 9.

Marty tells News 12 he loves the Walker Theatre, and visiting the Scenic City.

If you’ve seen him in concert before, don’t expect the same show twice.

“We have so many songs,” Stuart said. “The thing that beefed us up in the song department is we did 156 episodes of a TV show, and that comes at the end of that. We have a lot of songs to pick from. Some nights, the ones that people come to see make it on the setlist. Some nights they don’t. We just kind of move with the flow. But there’s a few, ‘Tempted.’ I still love playing ‘Tempted.’ I still love playing ‘The Whiskey Ain’t Workin’,’ ‘This One’s Gonna Hurt You (For A Long, Long Time).’ Those tend to find their way into shows every night.”

Marty says you can even expect to hear some new music too, which could include his latest song, “Country Star.”

“‘Country Star’ is the first song off the record,” he said. “The album is entitled Altitude, and it comes out in May and beyond that, we have a 20-song instrumental record called Space Junk that I love, and it’s been patiently waiting in the wings for a long time, and that’s next. So there’s two coming up.”
