Man charged in connection to murder of woman found in Shaker Heights apartment

SHAKER HEIGHTS, Ohio (WOIO) - The 24-year-old man arrested in Florida in connection to the murder of a woman found in a Shaker Heights apartment building received new charges on Friday.

Officers arrived at the building in the 3500 block of Tolland Road early Tuesday night when they discovered the body, according to previous reports.

Officials confirmed that 24-year-old Christian Warner, of Cleveland, was arrested at a treatment facility in Broward County, Florida on Thursday.

The indictment filed in the Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court said Warner allegedly killed the woman between Jan. 14 and 15, and stole her car.

Court dockets say Warner received nine charges:

  • Two counts of aggravated murder, all unclassified felonies
  • Two counts of murder, all unclassified felonies
  • One count of aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony
  • One count of felonious assault, a second-degree felony
  • One count of tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony
  • One count of grand theft, a fourth-degree felony
  • One count of gross abuse of a corpse, a fifth-degree felony
