Santino Marella: There Are No “Locker Room Cancers” In Impact Wrestling

Impact Wrestling’s on-screen Director of Authority Santino Marella has praised the company’s locker room morale, which is said to be ‘cancer-free.’

Marella debuted for Impact earlier this year and has replaced Scott D’Amore as the on-screen authority, who is recovering from an on-screen attack by Bully Ray.

Speaking to Sescoops, Marella spoke about the camaraderie among Impact’s roster, saying:

“It’s a fun locker room. There are no locker room cancers. Nobody is complaining. It’s an upbeat locker room, which is what it’s supposed to be because you should be grateful if you’re a wrestler for a living.”

The comment of a ‘cancer’ among the roster could be a nod to CM Punk, who was called a ‘cancer’ to AEW by Chris Jericho following his actions at AEW All Out 2022.

More recently, WWE’s Seth Rollins was asked about Punk possibly returning to the promotion, and also called the former AEW World Champion a cancer.

Marella’s daughter Bianca has followed in her father’s footsteps and can be found in WWE NXT as Arianna Grace.
