Following a recommendation from the district’s Facility Advisory Committee, the Brownwood ISD Board of Trustees unanimously called a bond election for May 6, 2023. If approved, the $59,950,000 bond, made up of three propositions, will fund districtwide improvements, including but not limited to, Safety and Security Upgrades, ADA/Code Improvements, and a Multi-Purpose Indoor Student Activity Center.

Wendy Corbett Burleson, age 51, passed from this life at 3:14 p.m. Saturday March 25, 2023, Hendrick Medical Center in Brownwood. She was born Wendy Lynn Corbett on August 6, 1971, in Odessa, Texas to Donny Keith Corbett and Patricia (Pat) Goin Corbett. Wendy grew up in Odessa and graduated from Permian Basin High School in 1991. She was a home health aide and took great care of her patients. Wendy married Randy Burleson in May of 2016 in Coleman.
