Jesse Edward Key, age 93, of Clarksville, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2023.
Jesse Edward was born January 14, 1930, to the late Gus Franklin Key and Mary Ruth Shelby Key. He was a farmer for 20 years or more. He was also a welder, a steel worker, and a crane operator for Langford’s Welding and Steel Works, Inc. both prior to and after his time in the service. From 1953 to 1956, he was a Sergeant in the 101st Airborne. Later, he worked for TVA Cumberland City, where he retired as a boilermaker.
Jesse was so much more to us than just a loving husband, father, and Papaw. He was also a member of the First Baptist Church of St. Bethlehem.
He is survived by his wife of 66.5 years, Kathrine Langford Key; children, Vicki Key Traylor, Bonnie Key Smith (Tony), Connie Key, Mike Key, Janet Key Gibbs (Tony), and Edward T. Hammill (Victoria); twelve grandchildren, and nine great- grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Saturday February 11, 2023, at 1 p.m. with visitation from 12 p.m. until the hour of service at the First Baptist Church of St. Bethlehem, 2232 Wilma Rudolph Blvd., Clarksville, TN 37040 with Dr. Jeff Burris officiating.
