Moore pled guilty to the misdemeanor charge on December 22nd when prosecutors withdrew a felony theft count. He was a volunteer accountant for the non-profit organization until he resigned in mid-July 2017.
During the sentencing hearing, the executive director said that when Moore resigned, there was only $30 in the organization’s bank account.
Moore did not have a previous criminal record, so sentencing guidelines called for probation, according to officials.
Moore was also ordered to perform 50 hours of community service and not be affiliated with any non-profit organization.
