As temperatures crept above 32 degrees on Thursday, the city of Plano was thawing out -- at least in the short term. There were still worries that roads could freeze over again as the temperatures drop below freezing Friday morning.

The biggest concern wasn't the freeways or even the main side streets. It was the ice in the alleys and smaller streets in neighborhoods.

The city also said it would try to restart city services like trash pickup and recycling on Friday, but it's too icy for sanitation trucks to get up and down the alleys. They said there is also still the risk of ice falling from trees.

Steve Stoler from the city of Plano joined the KRLD Afternoon News on Thursday to give an update.
