A man wanted on multiple charges in Kentucky was taken into custody Wednesday in Mason County, West Virginia, police said.

Fredrick L. Alexander, 45, was wanted in Kentucky on charges of burglary and theft, according to the Mason Police Department.

Alexander was taken into custody after a traffic stop near Third Street and Hickory Lane in Mason, police said.

Officers said they also found about 4.5 grams of suspected heroin and fentanyl, a syringe with suspected heroin, a scale and $537 in cash during a search of the vehicle.

Alexander was charged with possession with intent to deliver in Mason County as a result of the traffic stop.
