Sebastian Police Department Announces Positive Behavior Support Initiatives for Local Youth

The Sebastian Police Department now has a new positive behavior support initiative for our local youth. They would like to recognize them for “Doing the Right Thing.” They are putting a positive twist on getting caught doing the right thing by having their officers reward the youth of Sebastian with an “I was caught doing the right thing” token.

“When our young people show an act of kindness, an act of bravery, or just make good decisions, we cherish those positive traits. We hope this will encourage other people to have a desire to “do the right thing” in order to receive these positive rewards,” the Sebastian Police Department told Sebastian Daily.

Tokens are redeemable at one of the following establishments for the following treats:

Each token has a QR code on the back, so when scanned by your phone it will automatically take you to the Sebastian Police Department website.

For more information about this program, please contact Officer Bill Jursik with the Community Oriented Policing Endeavor (C.O.P.E.) Unit at (772) 228-7017.
