Early morning Feb. 2, members of the U.S. Marshals Service and Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Randy Palos, 42, who was wanted by the Lorain Police Department on numerous warrants and by the U.S. Marshals on violations of his court ordered supervised release, according to a news release.

Two weeks ago, Palos allegedly burglarized the home of an ex-girlfriend and assaulted the woman, the release said.

A warrant was issued Jan. 23 for Palos, who has no known address.

Within a week of that crime, Palos is accused of two more separate domestic violence incidents against the same woman and further warrants were issued, according to the release.

Based on Palos’ new law violations, a federal supervised released violation warrant was issued Jan. 30 for his arrest, the release said.

Palos was being supervised for a December 2020 conviction for federal drug charges.

He was released from federal custody eight months ago, the release said.

According to the Lorain Police Department, during the course of the investigation, Palos made threats to further harm the victim, himself and any police that he may encounter, the release said.

Additional charges of arson are expected against Palos as he is the primary suspect in a probe that occurred over this past weekend, the release said.

“The Lorain Police Department takes crimes of violence very seriously and our Police Department, and the citizens of the city of Lorain will not stand for offenders such as this in our community,” said Lorain police Chief Jim McCann in the release.

Members of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force located Palos in the area of East 33rd Street in Lorain.

He was arrested there without any incident and then booked into the Lorain County Jail.

“Every day this suspect was out on the street, meant another day where violence could occur, especially for the victim of his assaults,” said U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott in the release. “Quick work by the Lorain Police Department and our task force led to a quick apprehension and a safer community in the city of Lorain.”
