Bazley Linked to Kings per ESPN Radio Host

Murmurs of Darius Bazley being a trade target for Sacramento gained traction on Wednesday.

The Darius Bazley experiment may be coming to an end, in Oklahoma City at least.

Bazley’s role has dropped considerably this season in OKC and so has his production. With the lack of usage and inconsistent role of the young forward his name has become more relevant in the trade market with rumors swirling about possible packages and landing spots.

The fourth year forward has seen his numbers decline back to near his rookie numbers after back-to-back successful seasons. Bazley is playing just 15.7 minutes per game this season, the lowest amount of time in his career.

While nothing concrete has been released as Bazley is still an active member of the Thunder, rumors are swirling. There’s been no limits to the fictitious trade proposals for OKC in deals surrounding Bazley, most just hearsay.

On Wednesday, James Ham, the Kings Insider for ESPN1320 in Sacramento, reported he has heard “murmurs” of Bazley being a potential trade target for the Kings as the deadline draws closer.

The Kings are vying for more young pieces to fill out their roster, which is hopeful to end its lengthy playoff drought this season. A trade will give the Thunder more roster flexibility, Bazley a fresh start and will provide a team with a young forward who can stretch the floor.

There’s no firm market as to Bazley’s trade market and the deals OKC could swing involving him, especially with his inconsistent time this season.

This season Bazley is averaging 5.4 points, 3.5 rebounds and shooting 43.5% from the floor.

While the exact package OKC is seeking is unclear whether it be from the Kings or another suitor OKC will likely seek a draft pick of sorts to continue to stockpile capital for the future.

For now Bazley is still an active member of the Thunder, but as the deadline approaches the chances of him being included in trade packages rise.
