Troopers: 1 killed in single-vehicle rollover crash in Volusia County

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — One person died in a single-vehicle rollover crash in Volusia County Thursday morning, troopers said.

Troopers said the crash happened around 8:30 a.m. Investigators said witnesses told them the driver of a 2003 Toyota Tacoma took the northbound I-95 exit ramp for U.S. Highway 1 in Volusia County too quickly and lost control.

Troopers said the driver, a 33-year-old Orlando man, overcorrected and the truck overturned several times. Investigators said three passengers in the truck were ejected.

Troopers said the driver and one of the passengers, a 43-year-old Apopka, were taken to Halifax Daytona Hospital with minor injuries.

Investigators said the truck’s three other passengers, who were adult women, were taken to the hospital where one of them died.
