Katie Holmes Is Still Obsessed With Her Chloé Nama Sneakers — Here’s Why You Need a Pair.

Many celebrities are uneasy about repeating outfits, but Katie Holmes confirms that it’s, in fact, chic to repeat. She knows that when you find the perfect designer sneaker, it’s hard not to keep it on rotation. Her current go-to shoe? The Chloé Nama Sneaker.

Most recently, on February 25, Holmes was photographed in New York City wearing black sweatpants, a white sweater, a crossbody bag, a long vegan sherpa coat by Simkhai, and Chloé’s Nama Sneakers in Flower Green. The charm of Holmes’ fashionable shoes — part of the brand’s Spring 2022 collection — lies in their sustainable-forward design. Each material was chosen for its lower environmental impact, using 100-percent recycled nylon, polyester, and cotton, as well as recycled knit yarn, microsuede, and an alternative water-based glue that relies on less harmful chemicals than traditional solvents. As a result, the Nama sneakers emit 35 percent fewer greenhouse gases and use 80 percent less water compared to the Sonnie, its predecessor style. But that’s not all — the Chloé sneakers have developed a cult-like following for their lightweight feel and breathable mesh fabric for comfort, along with intricate design details of embroidery and stitching along the sole for a unique style.

The Nama sneakers also speak to Chloé and creative director Gabriela Hearst’s larger vision of embracing sustainability in its collections. Since the brand’s first show under Hearst in fall/winter 2021, we’ve seen the label lessen its footprint through other materials, such as recycled cashmere and knit fabrics. As a result, in 2021, Chloé became the only brand among the leading luxury conglomerates — LVMH, Kering, and Richemont — to become a B Corp-certified brand, cementing its status as a purpose-driven company.

As mentioned, this wasn’t the first time Holmes pulled out her Nama Sneakers. If you keep notes of her comings and goings in New York City, you may remember that on January 30th, Holmes paired the sneakers with baggy jeans, a double-breasted wool coat, and a canvas tote bag. Prior, on September 9th, Holmes was also seen running errands in these sneakers with bike shorts and an oversized button-down, adding an extra oomph of style to her off-duty outfit. During the summer season, Holmes showed the versatility of the popular shoe, styling the Chloé sneaker with a maxi sweater dress and a matching cardigan on July 20th and then wearing the shoe with straight-leg jeans, a blazer, and a white T-shirt just two days later.
