Darryl "Darry" Eugene Miller May 21, 1939 - February 1, 2023 By Ferry Funeral Home Feb 2, 2023 Feb 2, 2023 Updated Feb 2, 2023 Facebook Twitter WhatsApp SMS Email Facebook Twitter WhatsApp SMS Email Print Copy article link Save Darryl "Darry" Eugene Miller Darryl Eugene Miller, 83, Nevada, MO, passed away at home Wednesday, February 1 after a lengthy illness. Darry was born May 21, 1939 in Lawrenceburg, Indiana to Ellis and Emma (Sheldon) Miller. He was raised and baptized a Lutheran. Darry graduated from Lawrenceburg High School playing baseball, football, and basketball. He then served in the United States Marine Corps from March 1958 until June 1961.Darry and Barbara (Carter) Miller were married on March 2, 1962 and to this union they had one child, Mitchell Graham.Darry worked at Monsanto for fifteen years before trying his hand as a ranch manager in Madison, South Dakota. After a couple of blizzards, Darry took his family and headed to warmer climates landing in Vernon County, Missouri. In Nevada he worked first for Hamblin Real Estate and then Miller Real Estate before owning and operating Bingo Supply Center. He also enjoyed farming and wood working. He had a passion for baseball and coordinated the founding of the Nevada Griffons Baseball Club.Darry is survived by his long-time loving partner, Linda Grant; his son, Mitch (Cathy); and two brothers, Richard Bockhorst and Michael Bockhorst. He was proceeded in death by his parents; step-dad, Herbert Bockhorst; and sister, Marilyn & Bobby Joe Centers.Visitation is Monday, February 6, 2023, from 10 – 11am at Ferry Funeral Home.Graveside Services with Military Honors will follow at Marvin Chapel Cemetery.Donations may be made to Marvin Chapel Cemetery in c/o Ferry Funeral Home.COPYRIGHT 2023 BY KOAM NEWS NOW.
