Denise Joy Gault was born in Joplin, Missouri on March 15th, 1977 and leapt into the arms of Jesus on January 28, 2023 in Miami, Oklahoma at the young age of 45.
Preceding her in moving on were her grandparents, and an infant brother, Brandon Gault.
Learning to move on without her, and missing her terribly, is the love of her life, son Cason, parents Diana and Jerry, brother Matt and wife, Robin, brother Ty, Nephew Laramie and wife Kelsey, along with Great-nephew Tucker. Her Uncle Darell Longan, Cousin Clint Longan and wife Tootie and Cousin Brian Longan and wife Tessa.
Denise attended school in Grove, Oklahoma and attended college at OSU, where she studied Electrical Engineering and maintained an 4.0 GPA. She was TSA Queen, showed cattle at the limousine nationals in Des Moines, IA where she was selected for showmanship at age 12. Denise was also active in 4H , becoming 4H’er of the year. Denise enjoyed her church youth group and was active in the Girl Scouts of America. She loved performing in many plays and skits with her mother and grandmother.
She worked at the Grove Police Department and the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office before working for the Oklahoma Highway Patrol for the last 22 years.
Joy is such a perfect middle name for Denise. She brought Joy wherever she went. She was a big, brilliant personality and an adventurous spirit. A big laugh, a brilliant smile, mischief in her sparkling eyes, and a warm hug in her arms. She loved fiercely and completely. When Denise was your friend, you could feel it in your bones.
Denise loved her family and she loved her friends. She coined the best phrase ever "Bestie Soulmate" for her best friend, Tracy Powell. She lived passionately, working tirelessly with the Dalton Viner Memorial Foundation, serving as the Secretary, and using her talents to create not only shirts for the annual golf tournament, but taking photos during every event.
Denise is the mother of the love of her life, Cason. While she may not be here physically, the love, lessons, laughs and life she instilled in him will be there for the rest of his days. She is his guide through life, because even when she herself cannot be beside him, the family and friends she left to care for him will continue to show him the way.
If there is one thing to take away from this time of grief, it is this; Live. Denise did. She reached out and tried whatever life had to offer. She never let circumstance discourage her. She could get knocked down, but she always got up, brushed it off, and moved along. And while she did that, she smiled that beautiful smile.
Services for Denise will be 2:00 PM on Friday, February 3, 2023 at Crosswired Cowboy Church in Grove with Pastor Russell Brisco and Mrs. Shelly Searge officiating. Interment will follow at the Old Olympus Cemetery in Grove. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol Funeral Honors Team will Provide Honors for Denise.
