Bed Bath & Beyond will close about 150 stores nationwide after continuing struggles in their sales, and six of the stores are in New Jersey.
The local stores closing are located in Bridgewater, Mays Landing, Mt. Laurel, Kinnelon, Matawan and Flemington.
The company says Bed Bath & Beyond is in default on its loans and doesn't have enough to repay what they owe.
The new CEO of the company blames the struggles on the poor holiday season and shoppers spending less.
The chain now has over $500 million lined up in new financing in hope of turning business around.
New strategies from previous management made the slump worse, the CEO said.
