BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Boca Raton man tried to avoid a pedestrian crossing Okeechobee Boulevard OUTSIDE of a crosswalk, but ended up striking and killing the man.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office says Julio Aristy of Lake Oak Way in Boca Raton was driving a 2021 Infiniti when Luis Murillo of Hollywood crossed in front of him. Aristy tried to avoid Murillo but couldn’t. Murillo was struck and killed.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office says that Murillo was not crossing in the crosswalk. The front passenger corner of Aristy’s car hit Murillo. He died a short time later.
No charges were filed. PBSO says Aristy “attempted to swerve to avoid the pedestrian.” The incident happened around 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
