The Franklin Park Bobcats season came to an end falling to Centralia in the regional semifinals at Wesclin 50-41.  Salem trailed by 10 points early, but went on a short run at the end of the first half capped off by an Avery Gullion steal and score before the buzzer to cut the deficit to 22-18.  But the Tigers built their lead back up and held off the Bobcats who had an off night shooting.

James Strouder led the Tigers with 17, JaShawn Staples added 12 and Jaxson Hancock 10.  Salem was led by Avery and Payton Gullion as they each scored 11, Trey Clark finished with 5.

3rd seed Centralia will take on 4th seed Highland tonight at 6pm for the regional title after Highland knocked off the top-seed hosts in the night’s first game 49-41.

Also in Class L, Casey Mount Vernon opened up with a 58-6 win over Hamilton County and will play Friday for the title against DuQuoin after their 50-24 win over Benton.

Tonight at Mt Carmel, Olney takes on Carmi followed by Flora and Mt Carmel.
