School buses were caught on camera blowing through a stop sign in Bellmore.
They say it creates a dangerous situation and some don't let their children play in the front yard because of it.
News 12 reached out to Guardian Bus Company and spoke with the executive vice president. He said safety is their No. 1 concern.
"We want to apologize," he said in a phone call with News 12. "We want to make sure that we have the safest drivers."
The company sent a safety officer to the corner after News 12 contacted them.
The executive vice president said that an officer will be back by the intersection later this week.
Neighbors say they hope there will be more of a police presence at the intersection.
The Nassau County Police Department released a statement saying "“The Nassau County Police Department has zero tolerance for these VTL infractions as the school buses are transporting students to and from school.  Our Problem Orientated Police Officers along with our Patrol Officers will be at the location to both enforce the violations and to educate the bus drivers on NY State Law.  We will continue to work with the Bus Company and the school district to ensure compliance for the safety of the students and community.”
