UPDATE at 5 a.m: From Broward Sheriff’s Office: “southbound on I-95 at Sample Road. Broward Sheriff’s Office Pompano Beach deputies and FHP responded. A male victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment. Violent crimes and crime scene detectives were notified and are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting. At this time, I-95 southbound at Sample Road is shut down to traffic. Anyone with information that can assist investigators, should contact Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.”
BROWARD COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A shooting in the area of I-95 and Copans Blvd. in Broward County has led to a complete road closure as of 4:29 a.m.
The Florida Department of Transportation tells BocaNewsNow.com that I-95 is completely shut southbound before Copans Road. All southbound traffic is being diverted off at Sample Road.
Broward Sheriff’s Office and presumably Florida Highway Patrol are on the scene. It is unclear how long I-95 will be closed.
