A mum has given birth to a baby after casually dropping her pants in a pub before the infant slid out onto the floor.

Footage of the woman stooping forward to give birth at the Raintree Tavern in Cairns, north Queensland, was posted to social media on Thursday.

In the extraordinary CCTV vision - which is too graphic to publish - a burly security guard is seen scooping up and cradling the infant.

The woman rushed into the pub's dining room in a black T-shirt

The exhausted woman can be seen peering at the floor and checking her phone after the unexpected arrival.

She was first seen entering the pub's dining area in a hurry wearing a black and white T-shirt and grey pants.

The mum pulled her pants down and bent over to push next to an Iron Jack beer sign but remained standing as the security guard came to assist her.

The infant was seen dropping from the woman's body as the guard lunged forward to try and catch the child - but the bub appeared to land on the carpeted floor.

The guard then bent down to pick up the youngster. The woman looked relieved, still standing and bending over with her pants around her knees.

The small child's umbilical chord can be seen in the footage as the worker held the youngster in his arms before walking away.

The alarming pub incident drew instant reaction on social media with one person commenting that it was 'truly incredible'.

'[The guard] needs to update his resume,' said one.

The baby's condition after the speedy birth remains unknown.
