Family and friends braved the cold temperatures to gather together at the Jordan High School soccer field.

They did a balloon release after school to honor and remember sophomore Jennifer Flores Diaz. The Jordan High 15-year-old student died after a Hillcrest High School bus hit and killed her on Jan. 27.

The crash happened at a Sandy intersection, near State Street and Princeton Drive.

Around 50 to 70 people came to the balloon release to share memories and collect donations.

Jennifer, known as Jenny was described by her friends as kind, beautiful, smart, and really hard working.

"We were going to go to the sweetheart dance together. She would tell me we're going to graduate; we got this," Jenny's friend, Jennifer Lorenzo said.

What's especially challenging for Lorenzo is she offered to drive Jenny home the day of the crash.

"I was like could I give you a ride. She said no that's okay. I wish she would have come with me, you know," she said.

A GoFundMe was created to help cover any additional funeral expenses.
