Abe Lincoln snow sculpture draws attention in Wauwatosa
WAUWATOSA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Wisconsinites don't have to travel very far to see the Lincoln Memorial.
There's a replica of it in Wauwatosa -- at least until the weather warms up.
Dave Sorenson sculpted President Abraham Lincoln out of snow in his front yard near 81st and Wright streets.

The Wauwatosa artist said he builds snow sculptures every year. He chose to build Lincoln because his birthday is coming up. He said it took him three days. @CBS58pic.twitter.com/lajZGgRyNz
"I've been telling people it took me four score and seven hours, but actually, it was about three days," Sorenson said.
The sculptor told CBS 58 he spent one day building the base and two days carving, using just a garden trowel and a steak knife.
"Snow is easy to work with and you make mistakes, it's easy to fix," Sorenson said.
People living nearby watched the process and are documenting the finished product.
"He was scraping around," Obai Conteh-Morgan, a neighbor, said. "Now that we saw it's Abe Lincoln, it's pretty cool."
Sorenson said he builds snow sculptures every year, but this is the biggest one yet.
Unlike the real Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C., this attraction won't last very long.
"If it gets warmer, I can do some touch-ups on it, but if it gets really warm, it's going to melt," Sorenson said.
Sorenson said the pressure is on to build something bigger and better next year.
