COULDN’T YOU SEE A BILL NOT A LOT OF PEOPLE WERE SAYING MUCH AS THEY CAME BACK TO GET ITEMS LIKE THEIR CELL PHONES, THEIR SHOPPING BAGS, EVEN THEIR PURSES. SOME PEOPLE FINALLY GOT THEIR CAR KEYS TODAY AFTER THEY HAD TO LEAVE THEIR CAR HERE, CARS HERE BECAUSE OF OMAHA POLICE CONDUCTING AN INVESTIGATION OUTSIDE. FIRST SHOT HAPPENED WHEN I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF MY SECOND ORDER AND I JUST DROPPED AND RAN RELIEVED AND REGREW. BEING WEDNESDAY, TARGET MANAGEMENT RETURNED ITEMS LEFT BEHIND WHEN PEOPLE RAN FROM A MAN FIRING OFF SHOTS INSIDE THE STORE TUESDAY JUST KIND OF SOUNDED LIKE SOMETHING REALLY LOUD, DROPPING. BUT THEN THERE WAS A SCREAM AFTER, AND THEN PEOPLE STARTED RUNNING AND IT WAS VERY KIND OF EERILY QUIET AFTER THAT FIRST SCREAM AND JUST KIND OF LIKE A SENSE OF PANIC THROUGHOUT THIS COURSE WE’RE COMING BACK HERE FOR HIS COAT AND HIS KHAKIS. BEAR CHECK. MAKE SURE THEY’RE IN HERE. BUT YEAH, MY CAR KEYS, MY HOUSE KEY. WELL, EVERYTHING YOU’D IMAGINE. YEAH, THERE’S MY CAR KEY. JUST MY PURSE WAS IN THE SHOPPING CART, SO I LEFT ALL THAT. ANOTHER WOMAN PICKING UP ABOUT $100 WORTH OF MERCHANDISE AFTER SHOPPING FOR HER DAUGHTER’S DANCE RECITAL. OTHERS SOUGHT TO SHOP WEDNESDAY, BUT A TARGET SPOKESPERSON CONFIRMS THE STORE IS CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. AS PEOPLE FEEL OUT THERE. EMOTIONS. SOME GUY TOLD A GET INTO IT FOR CONTAINER SO WE KIND OF STOOD IN SIDE THERE FOR A LITTLE BIT. AT THE TIME HE WAS IN THE LAUNDRY DETERGENT AREA. JESSE WEISE AND HIS FIANCE SAY TUESDAY WAS HIS LAST DAY AS AN ASSOCIATE DEF AND WITHOUT HIS HEARING AIDS DURING THE INCIDENT, HE SAYS HE COULD ONLY SEE THE PANIC BEFORE RUNNING OUT, SAY THOSE OKAY, NOT NOT AS BAD AS YESTERDAY, BUT HE HOPES THAT PEOPLE LIKE HIS FRIENDS AND TEEN WORKERS. I HOPE THAT THEY FEEL OKAY AND ARE SAFE AT HOME AS WELL. AND HE HOPES THAT THEY FEEL BETTER, TOO. PEOPLE LIKE JESSE AND HIS FIANCEE TELL ME THAT THEY’RE JUST REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS WEEKEND. AND NOW POLICE COMPLETED THAT INVESTIGATE SHANE OUTSIDE. SO PEOPLE WHO LEFT THEIR CARS HERE ARE NOW ALLOWED TO TAKE THAT HOME. For about two hours Wednesday, customers and Target employees reclaimed the belongings they left behind when police shot and killed a man wielding an AR-15-style rifle Tuesday.People walked out of the store with cell phones, bags, and keys to their cars Wednesday. Omaha Police allowed people to take their cars home after an investigation outside. "The first shot happened when I was in the middle of my second order, and I just dropped and ran," said Shawn Neuman, who was delivering items inside Tuesday.If you need to reclaim belongings from inside Target, call 402-697-4930.Former Target associate Jesse Wiese says Tuesday was his last day on the job. He was in the laundry detergent area when he saw panic. He says he couldn't hear anything because he didn't have his hearing aids."He says he's OK," Jesse's fiance said, interpreting sign language for reporters. "Not as bad as yesterday. But he hopes that people like his friends and workers that they feel OK and are safe at home as well.
