Goldens in Golden

GOLDEN — Goldens in Golden is back on Saturday, Feb. 4, for a celebration of National Golden Retriever Day. Humans and their well-behaved golden retrievers are invited to gather at the Golden Visitors Center starting at 11 a.m. Saturday. The Golden retriever gathering will walk down Washington Avenue for a group photo near the "Welcome to Golden" arch. The event celebrates these popular pooches with lots of fun, fanfare, fluff and photo ops. Attendees should RSVP online.

Lady of the Camellias

DENVER — Colorado Ballet's newest production "Lady of the Camellias" opens Friday, Feb. 3, for a 10-day engagement at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House. Based upon the novel "La Dame aux Camélias" by Alexandre Dumas fils, "Lady of the Camellias" follows a troubled courtesan as she navigates forbidden love, betrayal, and loss in the heart of 19th-century French society. The ballet is set to the music of Frédéric Chopin, which will be performed live by the Colorado Ballet Orchestra. "Lady of the Camellias" plays through Sunday, Feb. 12. USA Curling National Championships

DENVER — The USA Curling Men’s and Women’s National Championships bring the country’s best teams together to compete and earn the right to represent the United States at the World Men’s and World Women’s Championships. The championship will be at Denver Coliseum from Sunday, Feb. 5, through Saturday, Feb. 11. Single-game tickets and event-long passes are available for purchase here.

Paw Patrol Live!

DENVER — The action-packed, music-filled, family-friendly production "PAW Patrol Live! The Great Pirate Adventure" is in the Mile High City this weekend. The live stage show will have three performances at Denver's Bellco Theatre at the Colorado Convention Center on Saturday, Feb. 4, and Sunday, Feb. 5. Performances are scheduled for 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. on Sunday. Tickets for the Denver shows are available now at AXS.com.

Colorado Garden & Home Show

DENVER — The annual Colorado Garden & Home Show opens Saturday, Feb. 4, at the Colorado Convention Center in downtown Denver. The Rocky Mountain region's largest and oldest consumer garden and home improvement show features more than 500 companies and 1,200 booths. Guests can learn about gardening and home improvement ideas, products and services. The 2023 event runs through Sunday, Feb. 12. Tickets are sold at AXS.com.

Colorado Springs Home & Landscape Expo 

COLORADO SPRINGS — Homeowners will come face-to-face with remodeling, landscaping and building experts at this weekend's Home & Landscape Expo in southwest Colorado Springs. The three-day festival will offer the latest in outdoor and indoor design trends with demonstrations, tutorials and advice from top professionals. The Colorado Springs Home & Landscape Expo takes place Friday, Feb. 3, to Sunday, Feb. 5, at the Norris-Penrose Event Center. A ticket discount is available at HomeShowCenter.com.

Model Train Show

COLORADO SPRINGS — Southern Colorado’s Model Train Show is back Saturday, Feb. 4, and Sunday, Feb. 5, at Colorado Springs Event Center. The show offers model train layouts, vendors, railroad collectibles, tools and kids activities. Tickets are $10 per person and children 12 and under are free.

Denver Cat Show

DENVER — The Econo Cat Club will hold its annual Denver Cat Show on Saturday, Feb. 4, and Sunday, Feb. 5, at the Adams County Fairgrounds. The family-friendly show features hundreds of different cat breeds, a cat agility tournament and cat education ring. Tickets for this weekend's show are available online.

Winter Walkabout Music Showcase

LONGMONT — The Winter Walkabout Music Showcase will feature more than 35 live performances by local musicians at more than 12 venues within walking distance of the Longmont Creative District. The festival runs all day Saturday, Feb. 4, from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. One all-inclusive ticket gains ticketholders access to every performance throughout the day.

Day of Darks beer festival

DENVER — Wynkoop Brewing Company is bringing back its most popular beer festival, Day of Darks. This marks the 10th anniversary of the festival, which showcases the season’s best local dark beers. Super Bowl 5K

DENVER — Lose some sweat before next weekend's big game at the Super Bowl 5K at Denver's Wash Park. The event features a 5K Run & Walk as well as a Kids Fun Run. Participants should come dressed in their craziest football fan gear for the costume contest and post-race photo opportunities. The 5K gets underway at 9 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 5. Snowshoe for Peru 5K

EAGLE — Sylvan Lake State Park is the site of the 10th annual Snowshoe for Peru 5K. The family-friendly community event, which helps to provide an education for youth in Peru, is open to all fitness levels and age groups. The event is set for 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 4. Registration is available online and a virtual option is available as well.

A Chocolate Affair

ARVADA — Olde Town Arvada will be a chocolate lovers' paradise during this weekend's A Chocolate Affair. The chocolate festival offers fun activities including a treasure hunt and chocolate samplings. Proceeds from the event — which runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 4 — will benefit Ralston House Child Advocacy Center.

To Kill a Mockingbird

DENVER — The national tour of the Broadway hit "To Kill a Mockingbird" is now playing in Colorado. Starring Emmy Award winner Richard Thomas of "The Waltons," the drama has been hailed as "an emotionally shattering landmark production of an American classic" by Rolling Stone. “Avatar: The Way of Water” led ticket sales in movie theaters for a seventh-straight weekend. James Cameron's sequel faces new competition this weekend from M. Night Shyamalan and Jane Fonda, Rita Moreno, Lily Tomlin, Sally Field and Tom Brady. 

The nominations for the 95th Academy Awards were announced last week and now is your chance to get caught up on all the contenders.
