Virginia Basketball Bracketology Update: NCAA Tournament Projections - 2/1

See where the Cavaliers sit in the latest college basketball March Madness projections

Just 39 days remain until Selection Sunday for the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament. Since our last bracketology update, No. 6 Virginia (17-3, 9-2 ACC) has picked up two more wins against Boston College and Syracuse, extending the team's active win streak to seven games. 

For the second week in a row, there is a near consensus between bracket experts Joe Lunardi (ESPN), Jerry Palm (CBS), and Mike DeCourcy (Fox), who each have Virginia forecasted as a No. 3 seed in the NCAA Tournament and facing No. 14 Furman in the first round, with some slight variance on the region. See a summary of each expert's latest bracketology forecast below:

Joe Lunardi - ESPN

Joe Lunardi has Virginia as the No. 3 seed in the East Region, facing No. 14 Furman in the first round. Lunardi lists UVA as the top No. 3 seed and the No. 9 overall team in the field of 68. 

Lunardi has seven ACC teams currently projected to make the NCAA Tournament: No. 3 Virginia, No. 5 Duke, No. 6 Miami, No. 8 North Carolina, No. 8 NC State, No. 9 Clemson, No. 11 Pittsburgh (Wake Forest and Virginia Tech considered, but on the outside of the bubble).

Jerry Palm - CBS

Jerry Palm has Virginia as the No. 3 seed in the West Region, facing No. 14 Furman in the first round. 

Palm has eight ACC teams currently projected to make the NCAA Tournament: No. 3 Virginia, No. 6 Miami, No. 7 Duke, No. 8 North Carolina, No. 8 NC State, No. 9 Clemson, No. 11 Pittsburgh, No. 11 Virginia Tech (last four in).

Mike DeCourcy - Fox Sports

Mike DeCourcy has Virginia as the No. 3 seed in the East Region, facing No. 14 Furman in the first round.

DeCourcy has seven ACC teams currently projected to make the NCAA Tournament: No. 3 Virginia, No. 6 Miami, No. 6 Clemson, No. 7 North Carolina, No. 7 Duke, No. 8 NC State, No. 10 Pittsburgh (Wake Forest - first four out)
