HARRISON COUNTY, Ohio —
Harrison County Commissioners met on Wednesday, and one topic on their agenda was the bids for the demolition grant for the county.

That $500,000 of state funding will help removed 24 dilapidated structures in the county to make room for some new developments and bring in economic growth.
Commissioner Paul Coffland says it’s an exciting time of growth for the county.
"Well, this morning we put out to bid Group 3 and Group 4, which will all be in the village of Cadiz,” he said. “Last week, we did some in Bowerston/Jewett area, and we'll continue to work through this. "

Coffland adds this is a long-awaited project and residents can expect to see some progress in these demolitions through the next few months.
