The suspect of a Northeast Portland crime spree who police say allegedly carjacked someone after arming himself with a meat cleaver has been booked into the Multnomah County Jail after police found him hiding in the attic of a home.
Christopher Sean O’Connor, 30, is facing two counts of first-degree robbery, first and second-degree burglary, two counts of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, and fourth-degree assault. He also had an open warrant for his arrest.
The charges stem from an incident that played out in Northeast Portland on Tuesday evening. No one was injured in the incident, officials said.
Portland Police said that its east precinct officers found a stolen vehicle in the drive-through of a fast food restaurant at Northeast 103rd and Weidler Street.

The driver got out and ran, and officers chased him to another nearby restaurant “where the suspect went into the kitchen and armed himself with a meat cleaver.”
Officers tried to hit him with a stun gun, but he fled the restaurant and carjacked a passing driver.
Police caught up with the stolen vehicle on Northeast 122nd Avenue, saying O’Connor allegedly tried to carjack other vehicles.
PPB officers say O’Conner ran into a neighborhood and went into a home. Police surrounded the house and eventually found him hiding in the home’s attic.
