Update at 5:10 p.m. April 28: Big Island police report that 15-year-old Kamali‘i M.K. Lawelawe, who was previously reported as a runaway and had been missing since last summer, was located April 26 in Kona in good health.

Original story: Kamali‘i M.K. Lawelawe has been missing since last summer and police want to know if anyone might know where he is.

The Hawai‘i Police Department is renewing its request for the public’s help with locating the 14-year-old Big Island boy, who was previously reported as a runaway. He was last seen at 10:30 p.m. July 3 at his residence in Kealakehe, wearing white shorts, a white aloha print shirt and a small blue backpack.

He is described as 5 feet, 4 inches tall, weighing 130 pounds, with short curly reddish hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is asked to call the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 808-935-3311 or contact Officer Jeremiah Hull with the Area II Juvenile Aid Section at 808-326-4646, ext. 302.
