A 31-year-old man is dead following a single-vehicle car crash near Searchlight, Nevada, over the weekend.
The incident happened on Sunday, January 29, at around 5:13 a.m. on northbound US95, south of mile marker 34.
According to Nevada State Police, a black Nissan Sedan was traveling northbound when it overcorrected the vehicle’s steering causing it to rotate counterclockwise.
As the vehicle continued to rotate, it entered the center dirt median, overturning and coming to rest in the southbound travel lanes.
It is currently unknown why the vehicle veered off the road, although Nevada State Police say impairment is suspected.
The driver of the Nissan was identified as Christopher Richard Michael Liggins of Las Vegas, pronounced dead at the scene after succumbing to his injuries.
The crash marks Nevada State Police Highway Patrol Southern Command’s 7th fatal crash in 2023.
